Therapy for anxiety, depression, and beyond
There are many reasons people arrive in therapy. These range from a vague sense therapy might help us with something we can't quite put our finger on, through to a clear concern or aim.
Whatever has led you to consider therapy, I appreciate it might feel daunting and unusually vulnerable to find a therapist - someone you can imagine speaking openly with.
In my experience, a quick conversation can be a good way to get an initial sense of one another. If this appeals to you, you're welcome to email me* to schedule a free, no obligation call:

* I don't use online forms on this site, out of care for your privacy. However, if you'd prefer an immediate way to schedule a call, you can click here to book a time via Counselling Directory

A sentence about what's led you to reach out now
I'll respond as soon as I'm able, which is typically within 1 working day.
If you've any questions, or if you'd like to get a sense of how you feel speaking with me before committing to a first session, you're welcome to a free, no obligation introduction call.
If you'd like an immediate way to schedule this optional call before emailing me, you can click here to book a time via Counselling Directory.

Step 2
Session one
Before your first session
Before your first session, we'll agree a time and a place to meet. This will become your dedicated session time on an ongoing weekly basis.
During your first session
In your first session, I'll ask you questions to build a picture of who you are. You'll also have time to ask me questions, and we'll discuss what you might hope for and expect from therapy.
After your first session
After meeting for the first time, we'll each have the chance to reflect on whether I'm the right therapist for you. If we decide to continue, I'll send you a short contract to read and sign. A sample copy can be found in the FAQs.
How long will we continue to meet?
We'll typically continue to meet weekly on an open-ended basis - with no minimum or maximum number of sessions.
What will sessions look like?
Practising relationally means there's no template for therapy. Sessions will be unique - guided by what you and I notice, and informed by your hopes for therapy.
Alongside talking, I might invite you to experiment with different ways of bringing your thoughts and feelings into awareness: through art, breath, metaphor, movement.
Step 3
Continuing to meet
There’s no minimum contractual time to stay in therapy, and you have the right to end at any time.
When you feel ready for an ending, we’ll discuss together what notice period feels appropriate.
